Coffee coffee coffee! If you know me, you know that I love Gilmore Girls and their crazy coffee habits. I’ve always preferred to limit my dependency on caffeine, but I have a serious weakness for caramel or mocha lattes! If you want a filling, tasty alternative that also packs 31g of protein, try this wonder whip!!!
This could also be made even better by the addition of 1/2 a scoop of Cafe Latte or Chocolate superfoods in place of coffee or cocoa powder, which I also use to curb cravings! I have also made half of these recipe ingredients, thrown it in a blender with a little extra coffee, half a frozen banana, 8oz of unsweetened almond milk, some ice, and an optional half scoop of superfoods! It tastes like a frappuccino ?
If you are not a fan of plain greek yogurt, find a low-sugar 0-2% vanilla greek yogurt instead and omit any sweetener! 🙂 It takes away any tartness! I’m a fan of the tart though ?
Caramel Mocha Wonder Whips
All of the flavour of a latte with a healthy twist!
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain 2% greek yogurt (or 0%)
- 3-4 tbsp STRONG coffee (or 1 tsp instant coffee)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/2 tsp caramel extract
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1-2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (add to taste!)
- 1 tsp cacao nibs (optional)
- 1 cup fruit of choice (strawberries recommended)
Instructions
-
Brew a small amount of VERY strong coffee. If it isn't strong, it will not come through as a flavour. Alternatively, I've heard that you can stir ~1 tsp of instant coffee directly into the yogurt! If anyone tries this, please let me know in the comments! I used our aeropress to make this easy!
-
Combine coffee, sweetener, extracts, and cocoa powder. Stir thoroughly until cocoa is dissolved. Allow to cool fully (only takes a minute or two, less in the fridge!)
-
Whip coffee mixture and greek yogurt until it is fully combined and light. Top with cacao nibs and fruit!
